Diagnose

The bottleneck was the paperwork, not the sales

BrightWatt sells commercial solar to businesses, nonprofits, farms, and public agencies. Every opportunity meant collecting bills, modeling savings, designing a system, and packaging it all for the customer and their lender.

That work, not finding customers, set the pace of the business.

Build

From intake form to signed proposal

Here is the path a BrightWatt lead takes now. The person only touches three steps; the system does the rest.

  1. 1

    Set up the bid

A rep or referral partner picks the project type and location. That answer decides which utilities, rates, and data the proposal will need.

The Set up the bid form with project types, city, ZIP, state, and utility
  2. 2

    Get an instant estimate

An address and one usage number produce a system size, production, and savings range on the page, right away. A live meter shows what the data supports and what would unlock more.

The live progress meter tracking Instant Estimate, Preliminary, and Full Proposal
  3. 3

    Upgrade as the data arrives

Add the rate schedule and 12 months of usage for a shareable Preliminary Proposal, or interval data for a bank-ready Full Proposal. Nothing is wasted; every level builds on the last.

  4. 4

    The system builds it

Behind the scenes: bill parsing, rate lookup, the Energy Toolbase financial model, system design, and incentives. No one retypes a number.

  5. 5

    A BrightWatt-branded proposal goes out

The customer gets an interactive web proposal in BrightWatt's brand: the headline savings up front, then production, cash flow, pricing, and financing.

  6. 6

Accepted online, straight into the CRM

The customer accepts from any device, and the opportunity lands in BrightWatt's Zoho CRM so the sales team works from one place.

Beyond proposals

Engineering and bid support

  • Single-line diagrams and equipment selection for multi-site portfolios
  • Bills of materials and supplier quote requests
  • Bid packages, including a public-agency RFP response
  • A rep workspace for managing bids across the pipeline

Run it

The fix became a product

The proposal system we built for BrightWatt became WattFoundry, a platform we run and any installer can use. BrightWatt gets new features as the platform improves, without paying to build them alone.
